یکی از فعالیت‌های مرکز آموزشی گرین ایکر برای بالا بردن آگاهی عمومی از مسائل مربوط به عدالت اجتماعی، برگزاری نمایشگاه‌های هنری بوده است. به‌تازگی این مرکز نمایشگاهی با عنوان مردمک چشم، درباره نژاد و دوستی بین نژادها برگزار کرده است. این عنوان برگرفته از تشبیهی است از عبدالبهاء، فرزند بنیان‌گذار آیین بهایی، که در آن سیاه‌پوستان را به مردمک چشم مانند می‌کند.  

هر یک از هنرمندان شرکت‌کننده در این نمایشگاه تعبیر خود از این تشبیه را در عکس‌هایش به تصویر کشیده است. 

1. Enojado – Erin Moore

As humans we are bonded by the spectrum of emotions, we all feel. It’s impossible to look at this piece without trying to discern what the subject is feeling. Is it displeasure, anger, sadness or is he pensive?

She holds onto herself as she breathes in the light. The light shines upon her and the darkness fades away as she sinks into her creation

Precious sight is accomplished because the pupil acts like the hollow reed.

The concept of sight and insight, to understand and “see” the hidden capacities of courage, patience, resilience, perseverance and nobility.

Through the eyes we can see into each other’s souls.
